How to get the most from the toolkit
The four tools work best when you use them as a set. Start with the Goal Quiz to choose a general approach. Next, use the Smoothie Builder to draft a recipe from what is already in your kitchen. Then check the result in the Nutrition Calculator and adjust the quantities. If you are shopping for equipment, the Blender Comparison helps you shortlist models by budget and use.
What the tools can and cannot do
Nutrition figures are estimates based on standard food data and the amounts you enter. Recipes generated by AI may contain mistakes. None of the tools gives medical or dietetic advice, and none of them can account for allergies, medicines or health conditions unless you check the ingredients yourself. If you have a condition affected by diet, talk to a registered dietitian.
A balanced starting point
A good everyday smoothie combines a liquid, one or two portions of fruit, some vegetables, a protein source and a little healthy fat or fiber. The NHS suggests limiting juice and smoothies to 150ml a day, combined, because blending releases sugars that can harm teeth. Many people settle on a sensible compromise. They drink a larger smoothie as a meal, in place of eating one, rather than with a meal.
Privacy
You can use the tools without an account. The Smoothie Builder sends your selections to an AI service so it can generate the recipe, so please avoid entering personal information in any free-text field.
Feedback
If a tool gives you a result that looks wrong, such as nutrition figures that do not add up, please let us know through the contact page so we can check it.
Which tool answers which question
- What kind of smoothie suits my goal? Take the Goal Quiz. Eight questions about your aim, diet and routine produce a general approach, such as a higher-protein breakfast smoothie or a lighter vegetable-led drink.
- What can I make with what I have? Use the Smoothie Builder. Choose your goal, diet type and the ingredients in your kitchen and it drafts a recipe.
- How much protein, fiber and sugar is in this? Use the Nutrition Calculator. Add ingredients and weights to see estimated calories, protein, carbohydrate, fat, fiber and vitamin C.
- Which blender should I buy? Use the Blender Comparison. Filter by budget, main use and features to build a shortlist, then check current prices and independent reviews.
A worked example
Say you want a breakfast that keeps you full until lunch. The quiz might suggest a higher-protein smoothie. In the builder, you choose spinach, banana, frozen berries, Greek yogurt and oats. The calculator then shows the protein, fiber and sugar for the amounts you plan to use, and you might cut back on the banana or add chia to adjust. The whole loop takes a few minutes and leaves you with a recipe you can repeat.
All four tools are free and open in your browser. We improve them based on reader feedback, so check back from time to time for new features and ingredients.
